12/2/18, Christmas Vacation

Hello, Everyone!

Christmas Vacation! How many of you have plans for the holidays? In the office building where I work, many of the office tenants plan a vacation this time of year. It’s the perfect time to squeeze in a vacation with the holidays and make those holidays stretch. And for those who have families, it’s a great time to spend that school vacation with your children. I’m always amazed how the office park where I work seems like a ghost town during the holidays with so many people away from the office.

But there are those who like to work during the holidays. My husband and I usually take time off. As a teacher, he has the perfect job for planning a holiday break, which forces me to leave the office for a few days. And there are those who plan their lives around their work or their work is so intense, no matter where they are, they are working.

In my novelette, Christmas Kiss, one of the stories in the Christmas anthology, ‘Tis the Season, Darroch Winters is consumed with his job. As a reality show producer, he’s found the perfect setting for his latest series, a historical mansion in the South Carolina coastal town of Blue Heron. The only problem is beautiful and feisty Vera Yeager who will stop at nothing to make sure the show doesn’t go on.

Most people would say Darroch has plenty of money, but for him, there’s never enough of anything—not enough money, not enough accolades, not enough trophies covering his office walls. He knows he’ll make his mark among the television titans with his next project, but that will never happen without Vera’s cooperation and she’s more stubborn than a South Carolina hurricane. Now Darroch has to work on the script that will save his career and save the show, but maybe there’s a more important script that should be written.

I hope that no matter what your plans for the holidays, that you and your loved ones have a joyous time.

Have a terrific week filled wonderful and exciting things!

Love,

Laura
