As I look through the books I’ve written, I’ve noticed common themes, probably because these are the themes reflected in my own life. As I look through books written by my favorite authors, I see the pattern of themes used in their books, too.
When Faced with a Choice
A theme repeated in my books are choices and consequences. As we live life we are continually faced with choices. The choice we make affects the rest of our lives, even though at the time the decision seems minor.
Dealing with a Complication
In my book, WHEN LOVE WHISPERS, Book 2 of the Beaumont Brides Series, Willow and Preston make choices that affect them for the rest of their lives. Willow’s relationship with her boyfriend has no future. When he leaves, she isn’t sorry to see him go, but he has left her with a decision to make. She had thought she could pursue her dream to become an artist, but now she must deal with another complication.
At this Point the Future Changes
Preston has always wanted to be a soldier and is in his last year at Charleston’s military academy. His future has always been bright and he’s always excelled. Now, he’ll make a decision that will give him the career he’s longed for and take him away from the dark-eyed beauty who fills his thoughts.
It’s been fun to get to know these characters and watch them cope with the decisions they need to make that will change their lives forever.
